My travel setup for painting

"Cigar painting box with a small plein air painting in progress"
Some have asked what my outdoor painting setup looks like. Above is the setup I use when I travel. It is my lightweight setup which consists of a painting box made from a modified cigar box and it mounts to a tripod. This setup is great for lightweight travel and I can paint on sizes up to 8" x 10" with this box, which is usually the only size I have time for when I travel. When I am closer to home, I use a Full sized French Easel, which is basically a sketchbox that holds all my supplies that folds out into an easel. I can use really large canvases with that setup but the downside is that it is heavier and more cumbersome to set up. I will try to post a pic of that setup as well.

Upcoming Show - Infinity Farm Plein Air Sale and Show

Just wanted to update all my collectors and friends about an upcoming show I will be participating in. The Alamance County Arts Council is sponsoring a plein air sale and show at Infinity Farm. The show will take place in a converted barn and the artists will be painting on location at the farm during the sale. There will be wonderful food and refreshments as well as live music. All of the work for sale will be plein air paintings which the artists completed on location. The show will take place the Saturday after Thanksgiving on November 26th from 1pm-5pm. Email me for more details or directions. Hope to see you there!
